EV roadside assistance in Citrus Park means help at the bumper, not a long tow. Charge Pro TPA is a referral line, not a fleet. We match you with independent local mobile rescue operators. Those operators bring a 240-volt Level 2 source to your bumper. They can jump or replace a dead 12-volt battery on site. Citrus Park feeds the Veterans Expressway every weekday. Northwest Tampa heat still eats a pack that looked safe in the driveway.

Hours at Westfield Citrus Park, then a silent car

Citrus Park is an unincorporated CDP in northwest Hillsborough. ACS 2019-2023 puts the population at 28,163. The land area is 10.164 square miles. Westfield Citrus Park is where people actually linger. You leave the car there for hours of shopping. You walk back to a car that’s weaker than the trip in. Sometimes the screens stay dark.

A weaker estimate after a long sit is leftover cabin heat. The pack was already thin before you parked. A car that won’t wake is usually the 12-volt. That little battery runs the computers. It also closes the contactors on the high-voltage pack. Heat in this metro is rough on that 12-volt. Walking away for a tow is the slow answer.

Stay with the vehicle when you can do it safely. Mall parking is private property. Florida Statute 715.07 lets an owner or lessee remove an unauthorized vehicle. Hillsborough County’s population is over 500,000. Storage after a tow has to sit within 10 miles. Current dollar caps weren’t confirmed on the live county schedule. We won’t invent them. An on-site charge keeps the car in the bay you already occupy.

Most Citrus Park EV owners still plug in at home. The mall trip is where that routine fails.

Gunn, Sheldon, and Ehrlich feed the Veterans

The Veterans Expressway belongs to Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. Tolls are all-electronic, with SunPass on the account side. Gunn Highway, Sheldon Road, and Ehrlich Road pour local trips onto it. Newer subdivisions hang off Gunn Highway. Logan Gate, Fawn Ridge, and Westwood Lakes sit in the same pocket. Westchase, Town ‘n’ Country, Carrollwood, and Northdale wrap the edges.

Nothing here is a grade problem. Tampa Bay sits flat and near sea level. Hills don’t hand range back. Heat and air conditioning take it instead. Expressway speed takes another bite. A driveway on Gunn can look fine at departure. Then the Veterans run plus cabin AC burns the cushion. The estimate that felt safe at Sheldon falls apart at highway pace.

If the car dies on the traveled lanes, move it off when you can. Florida Statute 316.194 governs stopping outside a business or residence district. Subsection (2) covers a vehicle disabled there when you can’t avoid leaving it. A dead EV fits that disabled-vehicle exemption. Turn the hazards on and stay out of passing traffic. Florida 511 is the state’s traffic feed for backups and closures.

Florida Highway Patrol Troop C works disabled vehicles on the interstates here. District 7 Road Rangers list I-4, I-75, I-275, and the airport interchange. Call *347 from a cell phone for that patrol. The Tampa Bay SunGuide Center is their District 7 desk. The free state patrol carries fuel and can jump a 12-volt battery. Its published services don’t include charging an EV. That isn’t the same as saying Rangers turn EVs away. On I-275 they can still jump you or shift the car. An empty traction pack still needs a Level 2 truck at the bumper.

Read the Veterans Expressway stall playbook if you’re already on the toll road. Citrus Park is the suburb that feeds that spine.

New houses, old heat

Only 2.1 percent of Citrus Park housing predates 1980, per ACS 2019-2023. This is newer suburban stock on flat land. Home charging adoption is high. People still strand because they skip a night on the plug. Then Sheldon errands stack on a Veterans commute. Cabin AC never really shuts off from spring into late fall. The pack you trusted in the garage can die at the ramp.

Tampa Electric covers most of Hillsborough County, including this CDP. TECO’s residential pages list Residential Service and the RSVP-1 time-of-use plan. Confirm those live rate pages before you plan around them. A named residential home-charger rebate didn’t show up on TECO’s primary pages. Ask TECO, or [email protected], before you count on a credit.

Recurrent Auto’s published research is the range-loss source here. An EV loses about 5 percent of range at 90°F. Above 95°F, the loss runs 20 to 30 percent. Near 100°F, Recurrent puts the hit around 17 to 18 percent. Models differ, so a January number is a poor July plan. The longer climate explainer is how Tampa Bay heat wears an EV battery. Short hops toward the Upper Tampa Bay Trail still run the AC.

Vaisala’s lightning data put this metro among the most lightning-prone in the country. A dark house means a dark wall charger. That still isn’t a reason to invent a public-plug map. If the car can’t roll, the operator comes to the pin you share.

Pack empty, or 12-volt dead

EV roadside assistance here means a person at your car. Charge Pro TPA doesn’t own trucks, a yard, or parts inventory. Independent operators do the work. The pros we connect you with are licensed and insured. They roll 240-volt Level 2 equipment to the bumper. Charging time is typically 15 to 30 minutes. That session usually adds 10 to 20 miles. Treat those minutes as charging time, never an arrival window.

Ten to twenty miles is often enough to leave the Veterans. It can also reach a charger you already meant to use. This page won’t name a public stall we haven’t verified. If you have a destination plug, say so when you call.

Mobile EV charging is the tool for an empty pack. A 12-volt jump is the tool for a car that won’t wake. Tell the operator which symptoms you have. A car that still rolls, with a single-digit estimate, wants a charge. A car with dark screens wants a 12-volt check first.

Operators bring a native NACS plug. CCS and J1772 adapters cover non-Tesla EVs. They work on Tesla and every major EV brand. You don’t have to guess the inlet. The operator inspects the car, quotes you, and bills you directly. Charge Pro TPA doesn’t set prices and doesn’t do the work.

Westchase uses the same expressway with a different daily mix. Their local page is EV roadside assistance in Westchase. We serve Citrus Park and every city in the county.

Charge here, or wait on a Hillsborough tow

A tow should be the last move, not the first. Plenty of EVs are all-wheel drive. Rolling them with wheels on the ground can hurt the motors. A flatbed still doesn’t refill the pack. The longer case is why towing a dead EV is last.

Hillsborough County caps non-consensual and trespass tows. Those caps go through the Tax Collector’s vehicle-for-hire authority. The live dollar schedule wasn’t confirmed, so it stays off this page. A charge in the space you’re already in is the simpler fix.

Stay with the car when it’s safe. Don’t stand in a Veterans travel lane. Let Rangers or Troop C help if they’re already on I-275. Then still call for a charge if the pack is empty. The free patrol’s published list doesn’t replace a Level 2 visit.

When this is a Citrus Park call

Call when the car has stopped and won’t make a plug you trust. Call from the Veterans, Gunn Highway, Sheldon Road, or Ehrlich Road. Call from Westfield Citrus Park or a driveway off Gunn. Call from Logan Gate, Fawn Ridge, or Westwood Lakes for a dark parked EV. The operator who takes the job quotes before starting.

The number to call is (813) 536-4545. That’s the Charge Pro TPA referral line. Name the neighborhood, the road, and whether the car is empty or dark. A dropped pin beats a vague Citrus Park label. The operator bills you. We don’t.
