Rivian drivers have two paths for roadside help. The Rivian app and the Rivian phone line, which dispatch a contractor through Rivian’s own program, or a Tampa Bay referral line that matches the driver with a local operator who already carries the right gear for the R1T or R1S. The two paths cover different jobs. Knowing what each does well saves time.

What Rivian’s app and phone line cover

Rivian partners with a national roadside provider to handle tows and lockouts for Rivian owners. The program dispatches a contractor based on the driver’s location. The contractor may be coming from another county. The contractor handles tows and basic roadside help, not necessarily a Level 2 charge.

For an empty pack, the national program typically tows the car to a charger or a service center. The driver pays for the tow under the program’s terms. Confirm the current terms with Rivian before relying on them.

For a 12-volt no-start, the contractor brings a jump pack or tows the car to a shop. The 12-volt is a different system from the traction pack. Most Rivian 12-volt failures can be jumped on site, but the contractor’s training may focus on tow rather than on-site service.

What a Tampa Bay referral line covers

Charge Pro TPA is a referral line. It matches stranded EV drivers with independent local operators. The operator carries a 240-volt Level 2 source with a NACS plug and a CCS adapter for older R1T or R1S units. A typical charge adds 10 to 20 miles of range from 15 to 30 minutes of charging. That is charging time, not an arrival time. For a 12-volt no-start, the operator brings a lithium jump pack and clips the small battery directly.

The referral line itself takes no fee. The operator quotes before work starts and bills the driver directly. The benefit over the national program is local knowledge. A Tampa operator knows the Veterans Expressway shoulders and the Suncoast Parkway mile markers. They know which Brandon streets have room for a service truck.

When to call Rivian

Call Rivian’s national roadside line if you want a tow to a Rivian-authorized service center. The national program is set up for that job. A referral line is the wrong tool for a service-center tow. A flatbed is what you need.

Call Rivian’s roadside line if the car has a confirmed mechanical fault. The national program has a path for warranty and service issues. A referral line is for charging and 12-volt help on the shoulder.

When to call a referral line

Call a referral line if the pack is low and the driver needs a top-up on the shoulder. The national program does not bring a Level 2 source. A flatbed to a charger is the national answer. A mobile Level 2 charge is the local-operator answer. For most low-pack situations, the local-operator answer is faster.

Call a referral line if the 12-volt is dead and the driver wants an on-site jump. The national contractor may tow. A local operator can wake the car in seconds with a lithium jump pack.

What to say on the call

State the model, year, and trim. The Rivian has had running changes across model years. Say whether the cabin is fully dark or if the screen still shows a range number. Share the exit number or the nearest cross street. The operator uses that to bring the right gear and quote before work starts.

Charge Pro TPA is a referral line. It does not own trucks, employ crews, set prices, or promise an arrival time. The operator quotes you before starting work and bills you directly.

When to make the call

Call from a safe spot the moment the warning light comes on. Call from the driveway if the car will not wake. Call from the next exit, not the shoulder. Stay with the car if it is safe to do so.
